Description:  While PORU and RUPO sat canned all day on this cloudless Wednesday, fortunately they got crews early enough for at least this one shot. RUPO with BM 330 - MEC 380 - MEC 5953 waits to come off the Rumford Branch while PORU takes their lead unit (MEC 310) back to the rest of their train which is holding the main. The whole lashup will be BM 327 - MEC 512 - MEC 510.

PO-3 330 Crosses the Saco River
Title:  PO-3 330 Crosses the Saco River
Description:  PO-3 with BM 330 and two empty flatcars from Casco Bay Steel crosses the Saco River into Biddeford, Maine as they return to the Freight Main at the AR switch. This shot had been on my list for a while but I could never time it to work with the sun as typically this branch is worked in the late evening or after dark. This part of the line was once part of B&M's Eastern Route. About a mile and a half (geographically) north of this spot, the Saco Industrial makes a sharp left turn while the Eastern Route continued straight. The timing worked out well as I could hear POAY blowing its horn for Main St. in Biddeford while waiting for this train, as the Freight Main is only about a quarter of a mile to the right.

Title:  Saco Industrial Track Action
Description:  PO-3 with BM 330 shoves four loads of steel (plus the two empties they had pulled) up to Casco Bay Steel at the end of the Industrial Track along Industrial Park Rd. in Saco, Maine. This was a nice surprise to find as this seldom photographed line is often serviced at night. I have heard that in recent months that sheet steel for Bath Iron Works is also coming into Casco Bay Steel and is being trucked to Bath while the new siding is being built for American Steel on the Rockland Branch. This increased steel business has called for a bit more frequent service along this track.
